friends

12 gummy bears present a group of 12 friends. Cute eh?

12 strangers in the same classes, get acquainted with each other, and slowly became a group.

Did projects together, studied together, and celebrated birthdays together.

Uni life is good with them. :)

Learn something

This boy you see here, probably can speak Chinese better than half the Chinese here in Singapore. Not kidding. He is about 12 or 13 years old, roaming on the streets near a famous attraction in Kathmandu, selling these magical bangles that can turn into accessories or deco items.

When he first approached us, he spoke in such fluent Chinese that I wondered who said them. It couldn't have been someone from the group i went Nepal with. I turned around and saw this young dude persuading me to buy that metal framed bangle from him. I guess this is a good example of learning a new skill to keep yourself applicable in the market. According to our tour guide, there are more and more Chinese businessmen and tourists. If they do not pick up Chinese, they will let a lot of money slip away from the fingers.

Time to learn new skill I guess :)

sunrise

Sunrise in Nagarkot, Nepal. Rays that looked like they come from the heavens. At an altitude of more than 2000m, we could see the sunrise at an angle we can never see in Singapore.

I remember we had to wake up at 5am (7 am Singapore time) to walk up to the resort's balcony just to catch the first rays of the sunrise. It was Day 9 of 10 of our trip, and we really wanted to see the sunrise before we leave for Kathmandu after breakfast. When we reached the balcony, it was very cloudy. The perfect sunrise was to see it slowly coming from behind the Himalayas. Sadly, the clouds covered the Himalayas and we could only catch glimpse of it once in a while.

Slowly, the sun began to rise. The clouds reflected the reddish sun rays, similar to that of sunset in Singapore. I didn't know what I could see, so I just kept pressing the shutter on my camera, hopefully, I am able to capture something that is nice. And I got this picture as well.

After about 10 mins or so, the sun rose to an angle where rays shines directly into the clouds and diffused softly into the air (first picture). I really like these 2 pictures because it also show me that, to achieve that effect, there are alot of factors that played a part. If the sky was less cloudy, I would probably have not gotten that effect of the sun rays.
